Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Hazard: The voltage detectors can give a false “no voltage” reading when being used to test live wires for electric current, posing shock, electrocution and burn hazards to consumers.

Description: This recall involves Southwire non-contact voltage detectors with model numbers 40110N and 40120N. Voltage detectors alert users to the presence of electric current running through electrical wires. The recalled voltage detectors are cylindrical shaped, about six inches long and about two inches in circumference. They are brownish gold in color with a black center insert. “Southwire,” the model number and the CE and UL listing symbols are printed on the voltage detectors.  They have red LED lights to indicate the presence of live electric current. Model 40110N detects voltage from 100 to 1,000 VAC. Model 40120N detects voltage from 24 to 1,000 VAC.

 

Incidents/Injuries: Southwire is aware of one report of an incident of a false reading by the voltage detector. The consumer received an electrical shock and fell off a ladder.

Sold at: Lowe’s and other home and hardware stores nationwide and online at lowes.com and other websites from June 2013 through February 2016 for about $15.

Description: The recalled VXL-6s electronic speed control #3365 is sold installed in the Traxxas X-Maxx Monster Truck, model 77076-04, and is also sold separately. The electronic speed control is the electronic control module that manages the throttle control (speed), directional control (forward or reverse) and braking of the drive motor in the truck.  The truck is 30 inches long, 22 inches wide and 4 inches above the ground. The truck comes in two colors, red and blue. It weighs approximately 20 pounds. The electronic speed control is located near the center of the truck in a vented blue case approximately 2 inches wide, 2 inches long and 2 inches tall. Traxxas XMaxx is displayed on the side of the truck.

Incidents/Injuries: The company has received 40 reports of fire. One injury to a finger has been reported.

Sold at: HobbyTown and other hobby stores and Traxxas dealers nationwide from November 2015 through January 2016. The X-Maxx truck sold for about $840. The electronic speed control sold for about $250.

Units: About 2,500 (in addition about 300 were sold in Canada) (additional CEROS 550 and 650 sanders were recalled for a different fire hazard in January 2015)

 

Description: This recall involves 3-inch, 5-inch and 6-inch Mirka CEROS compact electric random orbital sanders.  The sanders are yellow and black with “Mirka” on the front.  A speed control lever is on the top of the sanders and a vacuum hose connector on the rear.  The recalled sanders came with either a cardboard box or plastic carrying case, a 12-foot power cord, DC transformer (only in certain sanders), a wrench, a multi-hole backup pad and assorted abrasives.  The 3-inch sander is model CEROS 325.  The 5-inch sander is model CEROS 550.  The 6-inch sander is model CEROS 650.  Model names are on a white sticker on the back of the sander housing beneath the hand grip, and in certain sanders, the serial number can only be found on this sticker.  Serial numbers are engraved on the side of the sander housing just above the dust shroud.  Sanders with serial numbers in the following ranges are being recalled:

Recall Summary

 

Name of Product: Ventilation fans

 

Hazard: The fan motor can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

 

Remedy: Replace

Consumers should immediately turn off and unplug the recalled fans and contact Broan to receive a free replacement fan.
