URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 3 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 1055 AM EST SAT JAN 1 2011 THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN ALABAMA WESTERN FLORIDA PANHANDLE FAR SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI COASTAL WATERS EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY MORNING AND EVENING FROM 1055 AM UNTIL 600 PM EST. TORNADOES...HAIL TO 0.5 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 55 STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 65 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF CRESTVIEW FLORIDA TO 60 MILES WEST OF PENSACOLA FLORIDA. REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...CONTINUE...WW 2... DISCUSSION...PRE-FRONTAL CLUSTER OF TSTMS IS EXPECTED TO PERSIST INTO THIS AFTERNOON WITHIN A MOIST BUT NARROWING WARM SECTOR ALONG THE NERN GULF COAST.
