Dunwoody, former commanding general of the Army Materiel Command, with a flag to honor her 38 years of service on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Va., Aug. 15, 2012. In 2005, Dunwoody became the Army's highest-ranking female after receiving her third star. Three years later, Dunwoody became the first woman in U.S. military history to achieve a fourth star.
