Farnam Jahanian, professor and chair of the Computer Science and Engineering department at the University of Michigan, has been selected as the new assistant director of the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Directorate for Computer & Information Science & Engineering (CISE). He will start at NSF on February 1, 2011.
