  URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 760 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 955 PM EST TUE NOV 30 2010  THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF          EXTREME EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA        WESTERN AND CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA        THE PIEDMONT AND CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA        EXTREME SOUTH CENTRAL VIRGINIA  EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING FROM 955 PM UNTIL 400 AM EST.  TORNADOES...HAIL TO 0.5 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.  THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 55 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 35 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF GREENSBORO NORTH CAROLINA TO 25 MILES SOUTHEAST OF AUGUSTA GEORGIA.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE ASSOCIATED WATCH OUTLINE UPDATE (WOUS64 KWNS WOU0).  REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.  OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...THIS TORNADO WATCH REPLACES TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 759. WATCH NUMBER 759 WILL NOT BE IN EFFECT AFTER 955 PM EST.   DISCUSSION...A BAND OF LOW-TOPPED CONVECTION ALONG A COLD FRONT WILL PROGRESS EWD/NEWD OVERNIGHT ACROSS SC/NC/VA IN ADVANCE OF A STRONG MIDLEVEL TROUGH EJECTING NEWD FROM THE LOWER MS VALLEY.  DESPITE LIMITED INSTABILITY...STRONG LOW-MIDLEVEL FLOW/SHEAR WILL CONTRIBUTE TO A RISK FOR AT LEAST ISOLATED DAMAGING WINDS WITH THE STRONGER EMBEDDED STORMS.  A TORNADO OR TWO MAY ALSO OCCUR WHERE INSTABILITY IS BASED NEAR THE SURFACE...GIVEN THE MOIST ENVIRONMENT AND 0-1 KM SRH AOA 400 M2/S2.  AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 0.5 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 350.
