URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 665 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 320 PM CDT WED SEP 15 2010 THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTH-CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS EFFECTIVE THIS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 320 PM UNTIL 1000 PM CDT. TORNADOES...HAIL TO 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 75 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 100 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 50 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF WICHITA KANSAS TO 55 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF WICHITA KANSAS. EXPECT STRONG HEATING AND CONTINUING LIFT NEAR SURFACE LOW AND BOUNDARIES TO CONTRIBUTE TO ROBUST TSTM DEVELOPMENT OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
