  URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 726 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 135 PM EDT TUE OCT 26 2010  THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF          EASTERN KENTUCKY        WESTERN MARYLAND PANHANDLE        FAR WESTERN NEW YORK        EASTERN OHIO        WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA        FAR WESTERN VIRGINIA        WEST VIRGINIA        LAKE ERIE  EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 135 PM UNTIL 900 PM EDT.  TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 75 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.  THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 85 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 50 MILES NORTH OF FRANKLIN PENNSYLVANIA TO 50 MILES WEST OF BLUEFIELD WEST VIRGINIA. REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.  OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...CONTINUE...WW 722...WW 723...WW 724...WW 725...  DISCUSSION...LONG-LIVED QLCS WITH A HISTORY OF WIDESPREAD WIND DAMAGE AND A FEW TORNADOES IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE EWD THROUGH THE UPPER OH VALLEY AND CUMBERLAND PLATEAU THIS AFTERNOON INTO EVENING.  BOUNDARY LAYER AHEAD OF CONVECTIVE SYSTEM IS WARMING/MOISTENING... SUPPORTING A NARROW AXIS OF MARGINAL...BUT SUFFICIENT INSTABILITY.  GIVEN THE VERY STRONG LOW AND DEEP-LAYER SHEAR IN PLACE... ENVIRONMENT WILL REMAIN FAVORABLE FOR EMBEDDED BOWS AND SUPERCELLS CAPABLE OF DAMAGING WINDS AND A FEW TORNADOES.
