  URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 718 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 310 PM EDT MON OCT 25 2010  THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF          CENTRAL GEORGIA        SOUTHERN SOUTH CAROLINA  EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 310 PM UNTIL 800 PM EDT.  TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.  THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 35 STATUTE MILES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM 65 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF VIDALIA GEORGIA TO 75 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF SAVANNAH GEORGIA. REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.  OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...CONTINUE...WW 715...WW 716...WW 717...  DISCUSSION...A W-E CORRIDOR FROM MCN TO CHS IS BECOMING FAVORABLE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A FEW SUSTAINED SUPERCELLS CAPABLE OF TORNADOES IN ADDITION TO HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS.  THIS ACTIVITY IS FOCUSED ALONG A WARM FRONT/OUTFLOW BOUNDARY RETREATING NWD WHERE LOCAL ENVIRONMENT IS CHARACTERIZED BY MODERATELY STRONG LOW-LEVEL SHEAR...LOW LCL HEIGHTS AND 40-50 KT OF DEEP WLY SHEAR.  AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 500.
